How we started?

Veronica and Anthony founded AVL in 2019, shortly after the arrival of their first child. It was something they seemed destined to do. As a child, Veronica grew up watching her family run a successful wholesale company that was started by her grandfather in Hong Kong in the 1960s. This instilled in her a deep understanding of business – what it takes to start one, and what you need to make it grow over the years.

Meanwhile, Anthony had always wanted to run his own business, and spent his spare time studying the lives of successful leaders like Richard Branson, Steve Jobs and Tony Robbins. After careers in the banking and accounting sectors, their collective experience and passion provided the perfect foundation for AVL: a service dedicated to helping businesses take charge of their numbers and reach thrive.

Where we are now?

In the years since, the business has grown steadily – both in size and reputation. Today, AVL has helped over 40 small businesses level up with accounting processes and financial positions. They continue to work with many of these same clients today, acting as their trusted partners in accounting and strategic planning.

Vera Chong

With a professional background in accounting, business banking and data analysis, and a childhood spent learning the ins and outs of running a business, Veronica understands the entrepreneurial journey from both sides. As AVL’s business architect, she is in charge of designing the business’s processes, workflows, and systems – but her favourite part of the job is when she uses her creative to help other businesses grow, using her strategy and advisory skills to realise their visions.

In her downtime she enjoys singing, sketching and travelling.

Anthony Lam

CPA, Business Accountant

Before he co-founded AVL, Anthony gained a wealth of experience working in superannuation, wealth and tax. His love of numbers led him to become a qualified CPA, and his deep-rooted passion for supporting clients with their accounting and compliance needs led him to start AVL. In addition to his CPA duties, he works to enhance the leadership and mindset development of other business owners.

When he’s not in the office, Anthony can be found barracking with his fellow Carlton supporters, or collecting all things Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Carolyn Vo

Bookkeeper

Carolyn brings a wealth of bookkeeping experience to AVL, having previously worked as a tax accountant and assistant finance manager in the automotive and industrial sectors. Today, she’s excited to support businesses and entrepreneurs, working closely with the AVL team to process our clients' accounts with precision and care.
